The Calm Before the Storm Sermon Series

"And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, 'Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thought from many hearts may be revealed'." Luke 2:34-35

If there was a brief calm before the storm for Jesus it would have been between His birth and the visit of the Magi.

But the prophecy of Simeon shows us that eventually Jesus would have to face the full brunt of the storm. As a result, the proud, like wicked King Herod, would fall and the humble, like Simeon, would be lifted up.
